In their words
Upendra has a rare ability to take a complicated business problem and make it feel simple. He doesn’t just design screens. He understands why the system needs to work in the first place.
What stood out about Upendra was his ownership. He could walk into a messy problem, ask the right questions, work with stakeholders and engineers, and keep pushing until the experience actually worked.
Upendra brings the thinking of a product person with the craft of a designer. He is equally comfortable discussing user needs, business constraints, workflows and the tiny details that make an interface feel right.
Some designers wait for a brief. Upendra digs into the problem before the brief is even clear. That curiosity, combined with his ability to turn ideas into working experiences, is what makes him different.
This team worked tirelessly through the final ten days before the event. For the last two, they didn’t sleep at all, so the promotional videos were finished on time and to the quality the film demanded.

About

Hi, I’m Upendra.
I’m a product designer with 12+ years of experience. I started in visual and graphic design, moved into UX and UI, and today I design enterprise financial applications at Allstate India.
Along the way I’ve designed for film and television, e‑learning, fintech, commerce and enterprise software, from posters and trailers for Baahubali to platforms used by tens of thousands of employees.
Now I build as well as design. The largest of it is KRIAS, a personal assistant and second brain I’m writing for myself, and around it a run of smaller tools that automate work I used to do by hand. Designing something and shipping it have stopped being separate jobs, which has changed how I approach the rest.
I took Scaler’s system design and DSA track, with JavaScript and SQL, so conversations with engineers happen in their language rather than across a handover. Outside work, two YouTube channels: ChittyCooks and ChittyAndKitty.
